A guided walk around the Bingham Heritage trail.
Bingham has been continuously occupied since Neolithic times. There was significant Roman activity at Margidunum (which was the scene of archaeological activity when the A46 was made into a dual carriageway several years ago). After the arrival of Angle invaders Bingham was established as the centre of the Hundred which included Upper Broughton. A market was established by Royal Charter in 1314.
This will be our chance to discover more of Bingham's past with Adrian Henstock who used to be the be the Nottinghamshire County Archivist, his wife Val - who have both been to Upper Broughton and talked to our History Group - and Pam Richmond.
Meet at the Butter Cross in Bingham Market Place at 6.45pm or at the Golden Fleece in Upper Broughton if you would like to share a lift.
